From the ISLNDZ to Paris: Dressing Cabo Verde’s athletes for the 2024 Olympics

The 2024 Paris Olympics are right around the corner, and we, here at ISLNDZ, find ourselves with our hands full as the official partner of Cape Verde’s Olympic team.

How did the partnership take part?

We’re glad you asked.

The Cape Verde Olympic committee had a vision when they launched the contest to find a clothing line that would be the perfect fit to represent Cape Verde in Paris.

Leo Moreau, a Cape Verde’s Olympic committee member, says: “We wanted to work with a Cape Verdean clothing brand that would transpire the country’s cultural identity through its clothes. Something that will make it easy to identify who we are.”.

That’s where ISLNDZ came in.

Our Olympic fashion line aims to make our athletes feel confident, comfortable, and powerful in their clothes when they are representing our country on such a big stage. And because we know sports can bring a nation together like no other, we have also developed merch such as t-shirts, hats, and scarves that people can buy to support our team during those very exciting weeks in Paris.

The committee members were fascinated with our vast portfolio of products, securing us the partnership by winning the contest and becoming the official sponsor of Cape Verde’s Olympic team this year.

“Collaborating with ISLDNZ has been a delight!” says Leo Moreau. “Not only we’ve been in sync on what we need and want from this partnership but we’ve also learned a lot about the productions and requirements a business must have to make this happen.”

What should you expect from this partnership collection?

Alexandre Figueiredo, one of ISLNDZ founders says: “More innovative products since our goal is to challenge some of the things we’ve done in the past, so watch out for that.” (check our catalog here).

In this partnership, we also want to make use of our athletes. After all, they are the reason why we are doing all of this, so be ready to see them in a lot of our content moving forward.

You’ll get to know each of them better, their day-to-day and learn what it takes to be an Olympian (hint: there’s a lot of hard work involved).

This involvement of the athletes in our content is not only exciting for us as a brand and sports enthusiasts but also for the ISLNDZ community who will be able to create a connection with them ahead of the games, making the rooting for our people much more ferocious when the time comes. It is also exciting for us as a brand to see our community engage with another side of what we do as we enter this sports line realm, which is different than what we have done so far.

“For ISLNDZ”, says co-founder Filipe Soares, “this partnership with the Olympic committee signifies an opportunity to work with a Cape Verdean institution connected to sports and be able to promote Cape Verdean sports, especially to the younger generation. And of course, there is nothing like being able to showcase our brand to the world and be present at an event of this magnitude.”

As the countdown to the Paris Olympics begins, ISLNDZ stands proudly as a sponsor of Cape Verde's Olympic team, ready to showcase authentic Cape Verdean fashion designs and empower athletes. This partnership is all about blending fashion, culture, and top-notch athletic skills, showing why it's so crucial to represent Cabo Verdean heritage on the world stage.

Mark it in your calendar:

The 2024 Paris Olympics start on July 26th and our athletes will be there, proudly representing Cape Verde in their ISLDNZ gear.

Don’t miss it. Let’s go for the gold!
